I have been taking one of my dogs, Bandit, to beginner dog class the past 8 weeks. He finally graduated tonight along with Hershey (Chocolate Lab), Junior (Bulldog), Coco (Terrier), and Thor (Boxer).

Today I went to Mugu Rock in Ventura, CA. For the past week, we have had nothing but rain. I got a new lens this past week and it is the Sigma 18-200 mm OS lens. So I finaly got to use it for the first time.
I tell you what it is a nice lens.It was nice to finally to get out of the house and enjoy the out doors.
Over the next couple of weeks, two tall ships will be in the Ventura County harbors. The Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain are visiting as a promotional event for the Festival of Sail 2008 which is August 7-10.

Ventura’s photowalk had a beautiful afternoon. The sun was shinning with a few clouds in the sky. We had a great turn out with 28 photo walkers. We all met at the base of the Ventura Pier. We decided to take a group photo.
There were many different groups join our photowalk from Flickr, Zooomr, Betterphoto and the Ventura County Camera Club. After everyone got to know each other, we then walked down California St to the San Buenaventura City Hall. After the city hall, we walked down Main St. to the San Buenaventura Mission. We then walked down Figueroa St to Surfers Point. We ended the photo walk at the Ventura Pier for a great sunset and the start of a chilly evening with the wind kicking up and providing a little wind chill.
I would like to thank all that joined us on the Ventura Photowalk and really enjoyed talking to all.

Just today, Trevor Carpenter has created a blog site called PhotoChallenge.org. This site will be the main stay of all the challenges that Trevor will be announcing through the years to come. Again, as the December Challenge came to a close, many were asking me, “What’s next?” I decided that I liked the every other month pattern, and choose February, 2008 as the next month. However, I also had just finished following Bill Wadman and his 365Portraits.com. All year long, in 2007, Bill took a portrait a day. How awesome it was to see his amazing work. Wanting to help others accomplish something similar, I decided to launch the 2008 Challenge.
