CI Condors 20th Annual Gathering of the Giants Wrap-up

6 May, 2008 (14:53) | R/C, airplanes, remote control | By: Leigh

This past weekend, May 3rd and 4th, the CI Condors held their 20th Annual Gathering of the Giants.  The weather was nice both days.  A little windy in the afternoon but great.  There we at total of 38 pilots and 52 planes over the two day period.  We had a lot of spectators come see what we are all about which was great.  We even made the Sunday, May 4th, Ventura County Star newspaper.  I have posted all the photos on the CI Condors Google Picasa photo archive.  If you would like a particular picture in Hi-res format, please let me know.  Here is the link to the pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/cicondors

Here is a link to the Hi-res photos that I have processed (note: I will not process all the pictures): http://www.flickr.com/photos/acejr371/sets/72157604869339238/

I would like to that Frank and Bill for allowing me to take pictures for the club event.  I had a great time and hope to be flying at the next event which is June 14th for the Warbird Fly-in.

CI Condors 20th Annual Gathering of the Giants

29 April, 2008 (07:56) | R/C, airplanes, remote control, warbird, warbirds | By: Leigh

This coming weekend (May 3rd & 4th) the Channel Islands Condors will be hosting the 20th Annual Gathering of the Giants. The CI Condors is a remote control club that I belong too (Yes, I fly remote control planes as well). The remote control planes will need to have a wing span of 80 inches or larger. Usually these planes that will be flying or static displays are very detailed and very expensive. Most of these planes fly pretty fast about 60 to 100 mph.

To see one of these planes, please visit CI Condors website.

If you would like to come watch all is welcome. The flying will start around 9 AM until dusk.

The CI Condors field location is at CSUCI.

Any questions, let me know. I will be there all weekend taking pictures of the event.

CI Condors and guest had a great day of flying at the CI Condor R/C airfield in Camarillo, CA on November 10, 2007. I took pictures of everything that flew. There were some pretty impressive planes. I created a photo show with Photodex Proshow Gold.
